Does lesson study?
Lesson study is an effort to increase the ability of
teachers in conducting PBM by systematically researching and reflecting on the
PBM. Lesson study goal was to improve service teachers to the learning needs of
students. The core lesson study is a collaboration done by teachers and
lecturers to observe, assess, and reflect the implementation of the PBM.
Steps
Lesson Study:
1. Preparation Teachers work together to prepare lesson plans
2. Implementation A teacher implement the PBM in a real classroom, while
others make observations
3. Reflection and
Repair I The teachers have
discussions
4. Reflection and
Repair II Other teachers
implement the PBM in a real classroom, while others make observations
Lesson Study and Innovation
Lesson Study conducted for Innovation education through
improved implementation of the PBM. Relevant paradigms include:

INNOVATION THROUGH LESSON STUDY IF can be accomplished:
- Teachers are
open
- High teacher
commitment
- Developed
systems supporting infra-
- Is the
movement of all components
Lesson Study supports the SBC
- Lesson Study is guided by the
Competency to be achieved by students
- Lesson Study needs assessment and development of curriculum, syllabus
and lesson plans
- Lesson Study encourages the development of learning
tools and media
- Lesson Study requires the
development of Student Worksheet
Lesson Study requires Themes
Example themes:
- How to develop a mathematical attitude
- How to develop a method of studying mathematics
- How to develop assessment, etc.
Operational Step Lesson Study
For example:
- Step 1 Purpose: Students are able to learn mathematics independently
- Step 2 Competence: Students can determine the area of the triangle
- Step 3 Activities: Students conduct experiments or manipulation of
props to find the area of the triangle
RPP is the backbone of Lesson Study
RPP are:
- Serving the needs of students in learning
- Reflect the activity of students
- Reflect variations in interaction
- Reflecting a variety of media
- Reflect variations in methods
- Describing the achievement of competence scheme
- Describes the development of evaluation
- RPP as a communication tool
- RPP reflects INNOVATION
- RPP reflects the independence of learning
- RPP encourage cooperation learning
- RPP has supporting documents
- RPP is always revised
- RPP as a research tool
